Tampa Lax Report received a few texts and emails asking, “what about so-and-so” and “you missed player x.” While we’d love to be at every game, that just isn’t possible. We rely heavily on coaches sending us scores and stat leaders from their games. What you see below came from those coaches or us. If you are a player that deserves to be recognized, bug your coach. Ask them to help you by sending us game scores and stats following your games. We’d love to recognize your efforts! It’s what we are here for!
As with all of our Players of the Week lists, we look at not only raw stats, but the age of the player along with talent level of opponents. A 6 goal game against a district #1 team weighs much higher than the same performance against a winless team. And with stats and opponent level being equal, the younger player will usually get recognized.
