District 9
- Steinbrenner – Undefeated last season. The best team in the area and we expect to see them in Elite 8. Could be a state contender within the next few seasons. Talented young team.
- Mitchell – The Mustangs had one of their best seasons going 8-1. Only loss was to Steinbrenner.
- Sunlake – 2-2 in district play and 7-2 overall in 2020. Sunlake will fight it out for 2nd place with Mitchell.
- Wiregrass – Although they went 0-2 in district play last season, we expect them to be in the district playoffs.
District 10
- Plant – The Panthers are one of the top 3 teams in area and should remain undefeated in district play. Plant graduated a lot of seniors last season, but always reload with talented players. We expect to see them in regionals.
- St. Petersburg – They went 4-1 in district play last season, but unfortunately, were not on our radar last season. But this is definitely a team to watch.
- Sickles – Played some really close games in 2020. The Gryphons will be fighting in out against St. Pete for the 2nd seed.
- Palm Harbor University – A young team this upcoming season, but may be talented enough to get last spot in District 10 playoffs.
District 11
- Newsome – 7-2 last season and undefeated in district play. Their only losses were to Ponte Vedra and Steinbrenner. Newsome graduated some top players, but they always reload with great talent. Coach Watson takes over this year and we expect them to hold top spot in District 11.
- Lakewood Ranch – 8-2 last season and undefeated in district play, but did not get to meet Newsome last season. Maybe they can challenge for the top spot in 2021.
- Riverview – 5-1 last season and could challenge for 2nd spot, but we don’t believe they will challenge for the #1 seed. But it’s been a crazy year already. Anything can happen.
- Bloomingdale – Only notched 2 wins in the shortened 2020 season. May have a bit of a struggle to hold 4th spot this season.
